Tattersalls Book 1, 2 and 3 took place in Newmarket during October and saw the purchase of twenty-three yearlings in total heading to various trainers such as Ralph Beckett, Andrew Balding, George Scott, Tom Clover, David Simcock and others. On the track the highlights were Rogue Millenium and Rogue Lightning lining up in Group 1’s on Arc weekend. Rogue Millenium didn’t perform as hoped and will now take her place in the Sceptre Session at Tattersalls December mares sale. Rogue Lightening ran an eye-catching race in the Prix de l’Abbaye over five furlongs to finish an unlucky fifth, he was then offered later in the month at the Goffs Qipco British Champions Day Sale at Ascot and sold for £1 million to Blandford Bloodstock.   Granny Budgie has been at it again, making it three from four for connections. The daughter of Massaat was initially sourced from Goffs’ premier Yearling Sale last year for £18,000, she has nearly earned back her purchase price in prize money for owners Knights And Kings Racing Stable and trainer George Scott. Royal Supremacy won on debut for owner Michael Blencowe, trained by Andrew Balding and ridden by Oisin Murphy. He was drawn wide and had to travel 3 deep throughout the race, but showed a willing attitude to get up by a nose on the line. The Make Believe colt was a Tattersalls Book 2 purchase from Ballylinch Stud for 65,000 Guineas, out of an Iffraaj mare and from the family of stakes winners Fight Club and Flambo. The July Sales came and went with various purchases made and sales completed on behalf of clients. The stallion Kuroshio, whom was one of the first deals completed during the infancy of JS Bloodstock Consultancy in 2018, continued to uphold his place in the Irish stallion ranks when his daughter Kairyu won the Group 3 Anglesey Stakes at The Curragh for Michael O’Callaghan. Al Musmak was a very pleasing 2nd on his second start picking up black type in the Listed Flexjet Pat Eddery Stakes at Ascot on King George day for trainer Roger Varian and owner Sheikh Abdullah Almalek Alsabah. Purchased as a yearling from Tattersalls Book 1 for 95,000 guineas by Night Of Thunder out of Parton (Kitten’s Joy) and from the family of Provismo, he had previously won well on his debut in a novice at Ascot. June has been an exciting month of racing, there have been lots of promising runners and winners, and of course on the biggest stage of them all, Royal Ascot. Away from the racecourse, final sales decisions have been being made for yearlings across the UK and Ireland under the JS Bloodstock banner as to which sale they’ll be attending. All eyes are now firmly fixed on the up-and-coming Tattersalls July sale. Rogue Millennium broke the mould for trainer Tom Clover and owners The Rogues Gallery to storm home in front in the Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes. It was an exciting finish, she was tough and battled hard to win by a neck in front of Random Harvest. May kicked off to a lively start with the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up opening up the month. Two purchases were made, one a Dandy Man colt for 35,000gns from the black type preforming family of No Speak Alexander and Lily’s Rainbow. He breezed well and is an easy moving sort, he has gone into training with Harry Eustace. He should be sharp and we hope to see him run well in the not too distant future. The second purchase of the day, for 42,000gns, was a Harry Angel colt out of a Dark Angel mare from the family of City Image. The flat is back! An exciting kick-off to the season for JS Bloodstock Consultancy where client purchases are running well: Rogue Millennium was a 35,000gns purchase from Tattersalls for owners Rogues Gallery finished 2nd in the Listed Magnolia Stakes at Kempton and followed that up with a 3rd in the Group 3 Prix Allez France. Anfaal, bought as a yearling from last year’s Tattersalls Book 3, was the eye-catcher on her debut for owner Sheikh Abdullah Almalek Alsabah and trainer Tom Clover Racing when flashing home for 3rd place at Kempton. Wonderful Times, purchased from last year’s Tattersalls December Mares Sale, finished a close 4th in the listed Prix Zarkava and looks to have a bright future in front of her for trainer Mario Barratti. Billy secured the top lot of the day purchasing Isle Of Jura, Lot 64 - a three-year-old bay gelding by New Approach out of Falls Of Lora for £150,000. A Record price for a horse in training at the one day Tattersalls Ascot Sale. “He is a big raw horse with loads of promise. He was green on his first run and he needs some time but he will get that.  The mare has been amazing, all her runners have been rated 95+ and she has produced two Group 1 winners. If this horse is anything like his brothers, we will be ok. He has been bought for an owner who already has horses with George. George will give him all of the time he needs. 2023 started with the Keeneland January Sale where Billy secured the Juddmonte bred filly Chaberton for $240,000 – the daughter of Kantharos is a ½ sister to French 1000 Guineas winner Special Duty and Exemplify, dam of Group 1 Breeders Cup winner Expert Eye -‘Chaberton is a lovely looking filly and fillies with her pedigree don't appear on the market often, so I was pleased to be able to have bought her.’ Tattersalls, Goffs and Arqana were attended during February both in a selling and buying capacity. Queenhope, who was pinhooked for a client, was the third highest price of Tattersalls, selling to Hugo Merry for 140,000 gns. She was purchased in 2021 for 65,000 gns when in foal to Galiway. The sales circuit for 2022 culminated with foals and breeding stock sales at Goffs, Tattersalls and Arqana. The market was unusually strong as evidenced by Arqana's total aggregate for their sale going from €42 million in 2021 to €59 million in 2022. Despite the strength of the market JS Bloodstock Consultancy still managed to buy a various number of foals, fillies and mares highlighted by a Kodiac colt foal for 145,000 GNS who will be re-offered as a yearling next year, a well bred filly by Golden Horn for 82,000 GNS who will race on in France in 2022 and a mare in foal to No Nay Never for 330,000 GNS. ...

At the end of the yearling sale circus JS Bloodstock Consultancy picked up just over 40 yearlings for a variety of different trainer including George Scott, Andrew Balding, Tom Clover, George Boughey, Alice Haynes and Roger Varian. There were 4 bought from Tattersalls Book 1 which included an Inns Of Court half-sister to juvenile Group 1 winner Ebro River who will go into training with Andrew Balding. Following on from Book 1 there were 6 bought from Book 2, which included 3 exciting colts by Make Believe, Time Test and Blue Point.
