Wallem showed class on his seasonal debut yesterday at Wolverhampton by winning easily to shed his maiden tag on just his third start for trainer Andrew Balding.  A son of Sea The Moon, Wallem looks a progressive type to go forward with, showing distinct promise for his connections. Purchased by JS Bloodstock at the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale, he looks a type who will only improve with time and we look forward to the approaching flat season....

An Ascot breeze up purchase from Malcolm Bastard last year, Rockett Man lived up to his name by putting the field to bed in decisive style at Chelmsford. The 3 year old colt by Equiano is owned by the Rogues Gallery syndicate and he looks  to be shaping into a fun horse for the season. We wish his owners every success this year....

The bay gelding by Sepoy, bought by JS Bloodstock as a yearling, stormed home for a third win in as many runs for his new connections in Qatar to continue his unbeaten streak. He repaid his previous owners by returning a profit after selling for 67,000 guineas at the Autumn HIT sale last year having been purchased for a much less princely sum....

The worlds largest horses in training sale amassed a catalogue of over 1600 horses this Autumn and we were delighted to come away with 8 purchases. These were highlighted by Buhturi, Table Mountain and Desert Empire. Buhturi (Ravens Pass) - with an official rating of 81 is headed to Qatar where his current profile will suit the style of racing abroad.  Table Mountain has been campaigned by Andrew Balding and heads to Tom Symonds to continue her career over jumps. Officially rated 91 and already placed 4th in Listed company, Table Mountain has shown promise this season and we look forward to watching her run in his new colours.  Desert Empire - by the shuttling sire Vadamos - heads to Matt Smith in Australia after winning first time out as a 2 year old this season. We would like to thank our owners and trainers for the...

As a private purchase out of a maiden in the UK, Future Score by the late Cape Cross has delivered on his foretelling name by securing a decisive victory in the Crambourne Cup.  Trained by Matt Cumani and owned by OTI Racing, A Lewin et al, Future Score looks an exciting horse to campaign going forward....

The yearling sales kicked off as usual in sunny Doncaster with the Goffs UK Premier Sale - a sale normally renowned for the source of precociously bred horses.  In a year where there has been much uncertainty both on and off the racetrack due to Covid-19, we were pleased to team up with Andrew Balding and George Scott to come away with four new purchases. We struck early on day one with Lot 21 - a Noble Mission colt out of the black type mare Toxis (Street Sense). He is a strong, scopey type with a middle-distance pedigree and slightly atypical of the traditional Doncaster stamp. We were pleased to purchase him for £38,000 and he goes into training with Andrew. Lot 66, a bold, athletic son of Awtaad from Hillwood Stud was secured for £40,000 and heads to Kingsclere to begin his career. He boasts a...

Sound Of Cannons leaves the team at Manton House for sunnier climbs to join John O'Shea for the OTI Racing team. He has run to an official rating of 103 up to a mile and a half, with the recent update of Pyledriver's Group 2 win adding further weight to his form. He has been purchased with the view to running him in the Spring Carnival where we would be optimistic that he would have every chance to be a success. Sound Of Cannons is the sixth horse purchased by JS Bloodstock this year for Australia and we wish his new connections every success with their new purchase.    ...

The strapping son of Gleneagles makes his way to the Australian stable of Maher/Eustace after a series of promising runs in England. He has shown potential in his early career over a 1m2f and looks capable of getting further in time. By the exciting sire Gleneagles out of a mare by Rock of Gibraltar, he looks every inch the type to excel in the Southern Hemisphere. We wish his new owners every success for the season....

As the curtain falls on the last breeze up sale of 2020 it would be wrong to look past the remarkable results achieved by the sales companies. A huge amount of effort has gone into the logistical planning of a sales season seemingly thwarted at every turn by travel restrictions and the very real risk of Covid-19 - all under the watchful eye of the media. The combined Ascot-Craven sale kicked off the 2-year-old sales season in Newmarket where we made three purchases in the form of colts by Dandy Man, Iffraaj and Kodiac. These were bought for trainers George Scott and Tom Clover respectively.  The Dandy Man colt boasts a speedy pedigree out of a mare by Exceed and Excel, he breezed well and we aquired him for 62,000 guineas. The Iffraaj colt is a first foal out of a Fastnet Rock mare and was...

Purchased comparatively inexpensively from the Tattersalls Book 3 Yearling sale last October, the filly by Gregorian has begun her 2-year-old campaign impressively.  She ran promisingly first time out, narrowly beaten by Brian Meehan’s Tanfantic who has since stepped up to Listed company.  Fairy Dust then decisively put the race to bed on her reappearance beating several others who had already shed their maiden tags. She looks a promising filly to go forward with for Tom Clover and the Fairy Dust Partnership. We wish them every success for the rest of the season....
