7 purchased at the Somerville Sale and Taramansour lands the hat trick! Last week was a successful week at the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale as we managed to purchase 7 yearlings to go into training with George Scott in Newmarket. All of the horses purchased were speedily bred types by young and up-and-coming sites and it will be exciting to see how their careers go for their respective owners. Taramansour made it 3 wins in a row with an impressive victory at Swan Hill Racecourse in Victoria, Australia. He’s an exciting horse who was purchased as a in training from Goffs and has really taken off since he started his stint down under with trainer Matt Cumani. Fingers crossed he can continue on his upward curve....

A pleasing trip to Doncaster last week as we managed to purchase eight yearlings for new and existing clients that will all head to trainers George Scott and Andrew Balding. The highlight of the week was purchasing Lot 175 for £115,000, a colt by the exciting young sire Mehmas from Shinglis Stud. Mehmas, who recently sired the Gimcrack winner Lusail, has made a great start to stud and this son out of the winning mare Interweave was a strong looking sort and we’re excited about his career on the track. We were also delighted to purchase a speedy looking filly by El Kabeir who looks another exciting prospect. We will be attending all the major yearling sales during the sales season and am always looking for new business so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you are interested in purchasing a racehorse....

Horses in training purchase Taramansour gets off the mark in Australia at Ballarat Racecourse. Congratulations to both trainer Matt Cumani and owners Regal Bloodstock. Taramansour was bought from the Aga Khan’s Horses in training draft at the Goffs Sale. He looks an exciting prospect and hopefully he can continue to climb the ranks down under....

Eyes from afar will be taking a keen interest in the performance of the Will Clarken-trained Bleriot (Divine Prophet) when the filly has her first crack at a black-type contest in Saturday’s Listed Oaklands Plate at Morphettville. Bleriot was bred by Aquis Farm and offered at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale where she was purchased for $160,000 by Clarken and the Newmarket-based JS Bloodstock Consultancy, whose Principal Billy Jackson-Stops is well known in Australian racing circles. Clarken will also be represented in the Morphettville 2-year-old feature by Gosden (Not A Single Doubt), another youngster bred by Aquis Farm, who remains in the ownership. Jackson-Stops furthered his racing experience during a stint as assistant trainer to then Godolphin Head Trainer, John O’Shea, and assisted in the management of some 400 horses across three states, including Group 1 winners Hartnell (GB) (Authorized {Ire}), Alizee (Sepoy) and Darley stallion Astern. He subsequently managed Godolphin’s satellite yard at...

It was great to see private purchase Aquileon break his Maiden at Werribee Racecourse in Australia in impressive fashion for dual trainers Ciaron Maher & David Eustace over the weekend. Formerly named Aquileo when trained by Roger Varian last year, the son of Gleneagles looks an exciting prospect and there should be lots more to come from him in the future....

It has been a great start to the turf season for JS Bloodstock with Breeze Up purchase Rogue Bear making a winning debut for Tom Clover & The Rogues Gallery and then yearling purchase George Peabody winning two in row for trainer George Scott, both looking exciting prospects moving forward. George Peabody is being aimed at Royal Ascot which is exciting for all involved. Cash Machine, a relatively inexpensive purchase from the Breeze Up's last year broke his maiden at the second time of asking on the all weather at Chelmsford City and he too is another exciting prospect for the season ahead for The Rogues Gallery syndicate. Off the racetrack we have been busy attending all the major Breeze Up sales and have managed to purchase seven so far: three at the Craven sale, one at the Doncaster sale and three at the Guineas sale. All...

After a long winter, it's great to have the flat turf season firmly underway with two winners in March. Thomas Cochrane looks an exciting prospect for the season ahead after winning on his second appearance at Kempton. The 3 year old gelding by War Command was purchased by JS Bloodstock/Tom Clover on behalf of the Thomas Cochrane Partnership at Book 2 of the October yearling sales at Tattersalls. Another Book 2 purchase, George Peabody has begun his 3 year old career in earnest by putting the field to bed in decisive style at Doncaster at the first turf meeting of the year. The son of Holy Roman Emperor was purchased for the Gredley Family by JS Bloodstock and looks an exciting prospect going forward....

The two year old son of Iffraaj trained by Tom Clover put the field to bed when winning decisively on only his second start at Kempton last month. Purchased at the Craven Breeze up sale from Powerstown stud for the Rogues Gallery Syndicate he looks one to keep an eye on this season....

Ibn Arabi showed much promise after her loped home for a 6 length win in a maiden at Wolverhampton last month. The George Scott trained 3 year old gelding by No Nay Never was bought as a breeze up purchase off the excellent nursery Greenhills farm.  He looks an exciting horse with plenty of scope to progress and one to watch as the turf season begins next month....

The 2yo filly by exciting first season sire Divine Prophet (Choisir) demonstrated her early talent when winning at Morphettville at the back end of last year. She had finished second on both her previous starts and her timely victory meant her owners benefitted from the first season sire bonus.  Offered by Aquis farm at the 2020 Magic Millions yearling sale she was sold with the promise of her ‘Purchase Price Back’ should she win a Saturday Metropolitan race before next year’s renewal on the Gold Coast. The incentive offered to promote Divine Prophet’s first yearlings was well received and as a result Bleroit has already earnt her owners $210,000 after just three starts....
